MEET SCOTT GOLACKSON

My name is Scott Golackson; I grew up in Nora, IL just south of the Wisconsin border. My family owned the Chatter Box tavern in Nora while I was growing up, so I learned to grow up quickly. I graduated from high school in Warren, IL in 1992 and moved to Monroe, WI and have been in this great city and community ever since. I graduated from Blackhawk Technical College in Monroe with a degree in Business Management.

I have had some great jobs in the Monroe area and took over as Store Manager of Kutter Harley Davidson here in Monroe March of 2006. It has been a wonderful job. I get to meet some very interesting people and I try to mix with the community as best I can. I have been interested in the Monroe Chamber since I started at Kutter.

Community involvement is very important to me and my co-workers at Kutter. We try to be at as many events in the City of Monroe and also in Green County as we can. It is a lot of hours sometimes, but well worth it in the end. I recently married my high school sweetie and best friend, Dawn who also works in Monroe, at Armstrong Family Dental. Dawn has been with Dr. Armstrong for over ten years. We have been best friends for 20 years. I also have accomplished my greatest achievement yet, my wife is pregnant and we are due in February 2011. I have waited most my life to be this happy and to have a child of my own.

I can't say enough about this great community in which I work. Everyone in this city knows the right things to do to support and help the community grow. Sometimes we find ourselves complaining about the community too much or pointing the finger too often. We need to get back to helping each other and build this area up as much as possible. Times are not going to get easier if we work against each other, we need to pull through this downed economy and get back on top. I believe in this community and its people, they just need a little nudge.
